Got an AI wrap design? Here is how we turn it into a real wrap

2026-10-146 min readSonoran City Wraps

More and more customers walk in with a design they made in ChatGPT, Midjourney or a phone app. Honestly, we like it. A picture tells us more about what you want than ten minutes of describing it. But an AI image is a concept, not a print file, and knowing the difference up front saves you time, money and a little heartbreak.

What AI gets right

AI is good at mood. Color direction, overall energy, whether you want clean and corporate or loud and illustrated. If your mockup nails the vibe, that is real value and we treat it as the creative brief.

What AI gets wrong, every time

Resolution

Most AI images come out around 1,000 to 2,000 pixels wide. The side of a cargo van is around 22 feet long. Printed at the resolution wraps are usually produced at, that one side needs something like 25,000 pixels across. Blow a 1,500 pixel image up to that size and every edge turns soft and blocky. We can run this math on your actual file.

Text, phone numbers and logos

AI still invents letters. Phone numbers come out with a digit missing, websites are misspelled, and your logo gets "reimagined" into something close but not quite yours. All of it has to be rebuilt as clean vector type, using your real logo file.

The vehicle itself

AI draws a truck that looks like your truck. It is not your truck. Door handles, fuel doors, body lines, the gap between the cab and the bed, the windows: none of it lines up with the real panels. We lay the design out on an accurate template for your exact year, make and model so the important stuff does not land on a door seam or a handle.

Windows

Mockups often run artwork straight across the glass. Side and rear windows can take perforated window film that you can see out of, but there are rules about where it can go. Front side windows and the windshield are a different story. We will show you what is possible.

What to bring us

  • Your AI mockup (or three, if you could not decide)
  • Your logo as a vector file: AI, EPS, SVG or a PDF from your designer
  • The exact year, make, model and trim of the vehicle
  • The text you need: business name, phone, website, license numbers
  • Photos of the vehicle from both sides, front and back

Short version: your AI design sets the direction. We rebuild it so it prints sharp, reads from across a parking lot, and fits the real panels.

How it works with us

We sort AI concepts into three buckets. If the concept is close and you have clean files, it is an AI Cleanup. If the look is right but the file is not usable, it is an AI Rebuild: we redraw it in vector on your vehicle template. If the mockup was more of a starting point, we go custom from scratch with your idea as the brief. Either way you get a proof on your actual vehicle before anything is printed.
